Howard E. Gurwin has been an attorney for 43 years, a graduate of Wayne State University, and Detroit College Law, now Michigan State University College of Law. Prior to law school, at age 20, he became a licensed life insurance agent. Before opening his own law firm in 1979, he was employed by one of the larger premier business firms in the Detroit area.

In his own practice, he has represented individuals as well as Fortune 500 corporations in insurance matters, business and real estate disputes. He has also represented litigants in complex divorce litigation.

For many years, he has been active in a number of civic organizations. He has served on the State Bar of Michigan Attorney Discipline Board as a panelist and acted as both a mediator and arbitrator in a number of cases. He is a member of the Insurance and Indemnity Section of the State Bar of Michigan, and the Litigation Section and the Real Estate Section of the State Bar of Michigan.
